Conspiracy

We had a site inspection at this poetry-music hangout, where most of the patrons are either green writers or hard core no nonsense prose makers. We are slated to perform at the said bar sometime next month, and I am so excited! It is our first time to perform a two-hour set, with nothing but us on-stage! jitters galore, but at least we now have an idea of what to expect.

We just have to take care of some "bad habits" within the band, in order to straighten out the set and have a more cohesive performance and transition between songs. This is no 3 song set, this is the real deal! Everything has to be scripted, intros set and fade ins polished. I wonder if there would be pop artists watching? Record deal??? But first things first, we have to finalize the playlist and come up with some originals.

The gig reminds me of the movie "That Thing You Do", as well as the early days of the Beatles, or the Eraserheads. But along with opportunities comes sacrifices. I wonder what I would be sacrificing if ever we gain something in the end of this gig. What I'm hoping for now is a regular slot at the bar we would be playing in.

So, after 2 drummers, 4 guitarists and two vocalists, and 8 years of experience, we have come of age, and are now ready to hit the big time!
